Prep track and field More medal winners and event qualifiers during day two of state meet

The Edmonds School District athletes delivered impressive performances during day two of the 2025 WIAA State Track and Field Championships at Mount Tahoma High School. Allison Mervin of Mountlake Terrace finished second in the 3A girls triple jump, missing the title by a mere five-and-one-half inches in her second-best leap. Brynlee Dubiel secured third place in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking in at 14. 89 seconds, while Sierra Swan placed fifth in the javelin throw with a toss of 121-10. The girls’ 4×400-meter relay team fell just short of qualifying for finals, finishing ninth in preliminaries.

Local athletes advancing to finals include Dubiel in the 300-meter hurdles and Meadowdale’s Brian Mills in the 400-meter dash. The state meet is set to conclude Saturday, with ten Edmonds School District competitors vying for medals. The performances highlight the district's strong athletic programs and the competitive spirit of its student athletes. This year’s championships reflect the growing prominence of high school track and field in Washington State.
