Student athletes, coaches honored during Edmonds School Districts Scholar-Athlete banquet

The Edmonds School District honored its top scholar-athletes and coaches during an awards banquet on May 28 at Edmonds-Woodway High School. Sixteen student-athletes received $1,000 scholarships for their exceptional achievements in athletics, academics, and community service, showcasing the district's dedication to fostering well-rounded students. Each honoree was recognized for their leadership and commitment, with scholarships funded by local organizations. Coaches, selected by school administrations, were acknowledged for their vital contributions to student sports programs. Vince DeMiero, who served as the Director of Ceremonies, highlighted the importance of community involvement in supporting student-athletes.

Notably, John Patterson from Meadowdale High School, with a 3. 23 GPA, plans to continue his athletic career at Umpqua Community College. Isabella Fallarme, also from Meadowdale, earned a 3. 97 GPA and will pursue nursing at Seattle Pacific University while playing soccer. The event underscores the district's commitment to celebrating student achievement and community involvement.
