How would an Edmonds levy lid lift affect your tax bill? Try our calculator

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is grappling with a $13 million budget gap, prompting discussions on potential staff reductions and revenue generation methods. Among these options is a levy lid lift, which could appear on the November 4 general election ballot, possibly seeking $6 million in additional property tax revenue. To aid residents in understanding the financial implications, My Edmonds News has introduced a tax calculator that compares tax bills with and without the proposed levy lift. This tool allows users to input their 2025 assessed property values to visualize changes in their tax obligations. It's important to note that the calculator uses 2025 tax rates, which are subject to change due to annual reassessments and legislative updates.

Additionally, the calculator incorporates RFA benefit charges, which will affect property owners starting in 2026. The benefit charge is based on building square footage and varies for different home sizes. This proactive approach aims to engage voters in discussions about the city's financial future.
