Bridging the Gap Two-part conversation on Juneteenth, July 4th, cultural holidays set for June 21, 28
Northwest WA Civic Circle (NWCC) will host two educational discussions in June, focusing on the cultural significance of Juneteenth and the Fourth of July. The first event, titled “Bridging The Gap, Part 1,” is scheduled for June 21 at WSU Everett, where attendees will explore the similarities and differences between these two independence days. NWCC founder Alicia Crank highlights the importance of these conversations for fostering community understanding and collaboration. The second event, “Bridging The Gap, Part 2,” will take place on June 28 at The Edmonds Theater, discussing various cultural holidays, including state-recognized holidays such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Each session will feature a panel discussion and audience Q&A, with experts from local organizations and educational institutions participating.
Attendance for the first event is free, while the second event costs $5 and includes a small popcorn. The NWCC aims to promote civic engagement and discourse across multiple counties in Washington. Interested individuals can register for the events and learn more about NWCC at their website.
