The Compass Courses Edmonds/Maritime Institute awarded $26,000 in scholarships to six Washington high school students on May 10, 2025. The scholarships, ranging from $3,000 to $6,000, were administered by the Youth Maritime Training Association (YMTA) and support students pursuing maritime careers. Among the recipients, two are part of the inaugural class at Seattle's Maritime High School, with career aspirations as marine deck officers, engineers, and biologists.
