Hazelwood, Seaview and Terrace Park Elementary Schools recognized by State Board of Education

The Washington State Board of Education recognized three Edmonds School District schools for their significant achievements in promoting student growth and closing opportunity gaps. Hazelwood Elementary was specifically honored for its growth among low-income students, reflecting its dedication to equity. Seaview Elementary excelled in multiple areas, receiving accolades for growth among students from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, low-income students, and those in special education. Terrace Park Elementary also earned recognition for its efforts in fostering growth among diverse student populations. Additionally, the Challenge Program at Terrace Park was acknowledged for its accomplishments in English language arts, math, and attendance metrics.

Superintendent Rebecca Miner expressed pride in the schools’ achievements, attributing them to the hard work of students, staff, and families. This recognition is part of an annual program highlighting schools in Washington that demonstrate exceptional progress in key areas of student success. Each honored school will receive a banner to display, emphasizing their commitment to educational excellence.
