VFW, American Legion posts lead cleanup effort at Edmonds Veterans Plaza

Members of Edmonds VFW Post 8870 and American Legion Post 66 conducted a cleanup at Edmonds Veterans Plaza last week in preparation for Memorial Day observances. The volunteers focused on cleaning paver crevices and scrubbing benches to maintain the plaza's dignity. Local veterans led the project, reflecting their commitment to honoring those who served. Mayor Mike Rosen visited the site to express appreciation for the volunteers' efforts. "We’re proud to continue our service through efforts like these," stated Duane Bowman, VFW 8870 Post Commander.

The cleanup signifies the importance of community involvement in supporting local veteran initiatives. Jordan Jollie and the Edmonds Parks Department also contributed by coordinating the event. Edmonds Veterans Plaza serves as a tribute to those who served, and such efforts ensure it remains a place of honor.
