The Edmonds Jazz Connection returns on May 17, celebrating high school jazz musicians from the Pacific Northwest. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Edmonds Daybreakers, this free event showcases students who have spent months perfecting their skills and have achieved national recognition. With a fundraising target of $25,000, proceeds will directly support music education initiatives within Edmonds schools, including scholarships for graduating seniors and classroom grants. The event features performances at the Edmonds Center for the Arts and the Edmonds Theater, drawing over 3,000 attendees annually. This year, the initiative emphasizes promoting female participation in jazz by supporting all-female bands.

The Rotary collaborates with local educators to ensure funding addresses the most pressing needs in music education. Community sponsorships play a crucial role in funding scholarships and music supplies. Attendees can learn more or donate through the Edmonds Jazz Connection website.
