Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors triumphed 4-2 over the Mountlake Terrace Hawks in the Wesco League softball finale, demonstrating a cohesive team effort. Pitchers Ella Campbell and Helena Marsh combined to yield one earned run while striking out eight batters. Abby McCorvey led the Warriors' offense, achieving a 3-for-4 performance that included two doubles and an RBI. The game began with an early lead for the Warriors, as Campbell and McCorvey scored in the first inning. Although the Hawks fought back, tying the game at 2-2, they struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities throughout the match.

Coach Griffin Rash expressed disappointment over his team's inability to convert key at-bats, which has been a recurring issue this season. The Warriors concluded the regular season with an impressive 11-1 record, a remarkable turnaround from last year's 6-12 finish. Campbell credited the team’s success to a culture shift under second-year coach Josh McClure, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and motivation.
