2025 Memorial Day program at Edmonds Cemetery May 26

The Edmonds Cemetery and Columbarium Board will host the Annual Memorial Day Observance on May 26 at 11 a. m. This year’s speaker is Douglas Sheehan, a retired Coast Guard Commander and nephew of Medal of Honor recipient Douglas A. Munro. Attendees can find street parking along 100th Avenue West and 15th Avenue, while parking inside the cemetery is reserved for ADA permit holders.

The event will feature white crosses and U. S. flags marking veterans' graves, highlighting the cemetery’s role in honoring those who served. Guests are invited to bring their own chairs and stroll the grounds using walking maps for a self-guided tour. The Edmonds Memorial Cemetery, listed on the Washington State Register of Historic Places since 1972, features 625 veterans interred.

This observance not only commemorates fallen heroes but also fosters community engagement and remembrance. The event showcases the local commitment to preserving the history and significance of military service.
