Edmonds, WALocal News

Construction will begin at 10 p. m. on May 7, causing traffic slowdowns on SR 522 at the I-405 interchange. Eastbound and westbound lanes will be limited to one lane in each direction until 4 a. m.

the following morning. Key ramps, including the eastbound SR 522 on-ramp to northbound I-405, will also be closed during this period. Drivers should prepare for delays, particularly approaching the interchange, as crews will implement complete lane closures for up to 15 minutes to maneuver large equipment safely. This work is part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project, which seeks to enhance traffic flow and safety in the area. The construction is expected to last for two nights, with rolling slowdowns and closures.

This project highlights the ongoing efforts to improve transportation infrastructure in the region, which is crucial for accommodating increasing traffic demands. The overnight work will conclude by Saturday morning, allowing for normal traffic patterns to resume.
