Chelsea Rudd announces her candidacy for Edmonds Port Commissioner

Edmonds, WALocal News

Chelsea Rudd has announced her candidacy for Port of Edmonds Commissioner, District 1, which Janelle Cass currently holds. Cass was appointed in 2023 following Angela Harris's transition to Port executive director. Rudd, who possesses an MBA and an accounting degree, has experience as a chief financial officer in the nonprofit sector. Her political engagement began when she opposed a city council proposal that aimed to address the budget deficit by potentially selling local parks. She emphasizes the need for community and environmental stewardship, saying, "It’ll take all of us working together.

" Rudd is a mother of two and believes the Port belongs to future generations. The elections for three of the five commissioner seats will take place this year, making her candidacy timely. Rudd's campaign highlights the significance of public access to green spaces and the waterfront.
