Northwest Neighbors Network (NNN) appointed Alison Alfonzo Pence as its first executive director, transitioning from her semi-retirement to lead the nonprofit full-time. NNN Board President Mahyar Rahbarrad praised Pence's extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and community outreach. Previously, Pence served as the executive director of MS Helping Hands Donor Closet and held key positions at a major Seattle food bank and the Washington State House of Representatives. NNN, established six years ago, focuses on supporting low- to medium-income seniors to age well in their homes. According to the organization, many seniors prefer aging in place but require community support to maintain their independence.

Pence’s commitment to community service includes roles with the Asian Service Center and the Rotary Club of Edmonds. She expressed enthusiasm about integrating her volunteer work into her new role, emphasizing her dedication to the organization’s mission. Pence’s leadership is expected to significantly impact local seniors by enhancing outreach and resources available to them.
