Multicultural Association of Edmonds launches scholarships to support minority students

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Multicultural Association of Edmonds (MAE) has launched the MAE Student Scholarship to support minority students in the Edmonds community. This scholarship offers up to $1,000 to help students overcome financial barriers while emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage and community representation. Eligible applicants include high school and undergraduate students who either reside in Edmonds, have lived there, or are currently enrolled in the Edmonds School District or Edmonds College. Applicants must demonstrate active community involvement and articulate how their cultural identity influences their lives. “Education has the power to transform lives,” stated MAE board member Reikke Fuentes, underscoring the scholarship's significance beyond financial assistance.

Applications are due by May 31, 2025, and interested students can find more information on the MAE Student Scholarship website. The initiative seeks to empower students and foster a sense of belonging within the community. Community engagement through volunteer work and advocacy is a key criterion for applicants.
