1 line light rail trains to experience late-night service reduction from May 1-25

Edmonds, WALocal News

Starting May 1, Sound Transit will reduce late-night service on its light rail 1 Line, with trains running every 15-20 minutes during the week. Northbound trains from Angle Lake will begin service at 9:20 p. m. , while southbound trains from Lynnwood City Center will start at 10 p. m.

These schedule adjustments accommodate rail grinding operations and construction at Pinehurst Station. Specific dates will see closures of platforms at Beacon Hill and Mount Baker, with signage provided to inform passengers. During the grinding process, trains will utilize the Lynnwood platform at both stations. Additionally, trains will operate every 12 minutes on most evenings when rail grinding is not in effect. Riders are encouraged to sign up for email alerts to receive timely updates about service changes.

Such measures aim to enhance safety and improve long-term maintenance of the rail system.
