Overnight lane reductions and rolling slowdowns on southbound I-405 April 30-May 2

Edmonds, WALocal News

Southbound I-405 in Bothell will see nighttime rolling slowdowns from April 30 to May 2 as crews remove overhead signs for a roadway widening project. The sign removal is part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project, which aims to enhance traffic flow and roadway capacity. Lane reductions will begin at 10 p. m. on April 30 and continue through 4 a.

m. on May 2, affecting the stretch between State Route 527 and Northeast 195th Street. During rolling slowdowns, crews will temporarily stop traffic for up to 15 minutes to create gaps for sign removal. Drivers should expect ramp closures from I-5 and SR 525, with detours implemented to navigate around the work zones. Increased traffic congestion is anticipated on southbound I-405 during these overnight hours.

This project reflects ongoing efforts by the Washington State Department of Transportation to improve infrastructure in the region. The enhancements are expected to alleviate long-term traffic issues once completed.
