Cascade Symphony to present The Devils Violin on May 5 in 2024-25 season finale
The Cascade Symphony Orchestra will feature violinist Tokuji Miyasaka in its season finale concert on May 5 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Miyasaka, who won the CSO’s “Rising Star” competition in 2018 and has gained recognition as a Seattle Symphony Young Artist, will perform Paganini's First Violin Concerto, known as The Devil’s Violin. Maestro Michael Miropolsky describes the evening's program as a blend of stylistically different works, starting with Borodin's popular In the Steppes of Central Asia. The concert will also include a unique performance of Einojuhani Rautavaara's Cantus Arcticus, which incorporates recordings of bird songs from the Arctic. Tchaikovsky's Capriccio Italien, inspired by the sounds of Rome, will serve as the finale.
Tickets are available for $30 for adults, $26 for seniors, and $10 for youth aged 12 and younger. The concert begins at 7:30 p. m. after a pre-concert lecture by KING-FM's Dave Beck at 6:30 p. m.
The CSO plans to announce its concert schedule for the 2025-26 season in the coming weeks.
