Prep boys soccer Warriors hand Vikings first loss of season

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors secured a vital 3-0 win against the Lake Stevens Vikings, handing them their first loss of the season. Senior Alex Plumis led the charge with two goals, both set up by teammate Oliver Zoloth. Plumis called the victory a significant step for the team's confidence after a challenging stretch, including a recent loss to Lynnwood. Goalkeeper Danny Abraham proved instrumental, making ten saves against a potent Vikings offense that averaged 3. 3 goals per game.

His performance included critical saves, such as a kick save against Isaiah Wheeler and a diving tip against a long-range shot. Despite the win not affecting their conference standings, it highlights the Warriors' potential to rebound in the season. Lake Stevens, previously ranked second in the WIAA 4A state RPI, entered the match with an impressive record of 11-0-0. This victory serves as a morale booster for the Warriors as they aim to regain their winning form.
