Edmonds, WALocal News

The Alderwood Garden Club (AGC) is celebrating its 100th anniversary by hosting its annual plant sale on April 26, 2025, at the Cedar Valley Grange in Lynnwood. This beloved event will run from 9 a. m. to noon, offering an array of bargain-priced plants selected for the local climate. Popular choices among buyers typically include peonies and hellebores, and the club is committed to avoiding invasive species.

In addition to plants, shoppers can find garden tools, art, indoor plants, and veggie starts. Volunteers will be available to assist with loading purchases directly into vehicles, and multiple payment options are accepted, including cash, checks, and credit cards. Proceeds from the sale will support a horticulture scholarship through the Edmonds College Foundation, along with various community projects. Suzy Chandler, a club member, highlighted the AGC's growth from fewer than 10 gardeners in 1925 to over 90 today, emphasizing a focused commitment to sustainable gardening practices. Monthly meetings also feature expert speakers who share valuable gardening insights, reinforcing the club's mission of cultivating both gardens and friendships.
