Snohomish County now accepting applications for Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) will make its return to Snohomish County in summer 2025, providing essential support to low-income seniors seeking to incorporate fresh produce into their diets. Eligible participants can apply for a pre-loaded benefit card worth $80, allowing them to purchase locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey, and herbs from participating farmers markets and farm stands. To qualify, applicants must be residents aged 60 and older for non-Native Americans and 55 and older for Native Americans, with income caps set at $2,413 for individuals and $3,261 for couples. Applications must be submitted by 4 p. m.

on May 5, 2025, with online submissions encouraged for their convenience and speed. The program not only enhances the health and well-being of seniors but also bolsters local agriculture by promoting the use of farmers markets and community-supported agriculture. With over 2,700 seniors benefiting from the program last year, it has proven to be a significant resource in the community. The SFMNP is backed by various credible organizations, including the U. S.
