Lynnwood police investigating report of attempted child abduction near College Place Elementary

Lynnwood police are actively investigating a troubling report of attempted child abduction that took place on April 14, near College Place Elementary School. A 10-year-old boy, who was enjoying time with friends, was approached by a man while playing on a trail adjacent to the Lynnwood Municipal Golf Course. Fortunately, the boy and his companions managed to escape unharmed and returned to their homes. Cmdr. Joseph Dickinson confirmed the incident, which was reported by a concerned parent to the My Neighborhood News Network.

The suspect, described as a 5-foot-4-inch Hispanic male in his 40s, was wearing a black puffy jacket and was last seen fleeing the scene at the corner of 202nd Street Southwest and 73rd Avenue West. Dickinson urged the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals to the police. This incident highlights the ongoing concerns surrounding child safety in public spaces, particularly near schools. Local authorities are committed to investigating the matter thoroughly to ensure the safety of children in the area.
