Edmonds Way closed for five hours Monday after semitruck knocks down power line

A semitruck knocked down a power line on State Route 104/Edmonds Way, leading to a five-hour closure on Monday. The incident took place around 9:10 a. m. , with the truck driver failing to stop, prompting authorities to treat it as a hit-and-run collision. Cmdr.

Josh McClure from the Edmonds police reported that both vehicle and pedestrian traffic were completely halted. Emergency responders from the Washington State Department of Transportation and Snohomish County PUD arrived promptly to manage the situation. The closure impacted ferry traffic significantly, as the road was blocked from Dayton to 15th Street. Residents and commuters were advised to seek alternate routes during the disruption. Authorities are actively investigating the incident to identify the responsible driver.
