St. Albans holding Stations of the Cross in the labyrinth on Good Friday

Edmonds, WALocal News

On Good Friday, April 18, St. Alban’s Church will offer the Stations of the Cross in its labyrinth, providing a profound opportunity for personal engagement with the passion of Christ. This event, running from noon to 6 p. m. , invites modern pilgrims to reflect on the 14 Stations that depict significant moments in Jesus’ journey from condemnation to entombment.

Historically, medieval Christians used labyrinths as safer alternatives to hazardous pilgrimages to Jerusalem, and this practice continues today in a contemporary form. Attendees can access a booklet titled “The Way of the Cross,” which features meditations and prayers tailored for each station, enriching their spiritual journey. The labyrinth serves as a space for prayer, meditation, and personal growth, enhancing the overall experience of Good Friday. In addition to the labyrinth event, St. Alban’s will hold Good Friday Services at noon and 6 p.

m. , allowing for communal worship. The church is located at 21405 82nd Pl. W. , near the Edmonds Five Corners Roundabout.

This unique blend of tradition and modern spirituality offers a meaningful way to observe this significant day in the Christian calendar.
