Edmonds, WALocal News

In a much-needed turnaround, the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors defeated the Monroe Bearcats 10-1, showcasing their resilience after a rough stretch of games. The team’s offense was led by junior Aksel Forseth, who not only recorded three RBIs but also played multiple positions, including pitching a flawless sixth inning. The Warriors' explosive second inning, where they scored five runs, set the tone for the match, aided by aggressive baserunning and an error from the Bearcats. Coach Dan Somoza highlighted the victory's positive impact on team morale and emphasized the importance of giving all players the opportunity to contribute. With a record of 7-4, the Warriors are looking forward to their upcoming conference games, aiming to maintain their first-place standing.

Somoza underscored the value of facing tough non-league teams, stating it prepares them for the challenges ahead. The Warriors’ next challenge will be against the Shorecrest Scots, a critical matchup in the Wesco League South Conference. This victory not only boosts the team's confidence but also reinforces their commitment to improvement as the season progresses.
