Applications for state e-bike rebates now open

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has officially launched the WE-Bike program, enabling residents to apply for e-bike rebates through April 23. This initiative, funded by the 2023-25 transportation budget, allocates over $4 million to make e-bikes and their accessories more affordable for Washingtonians. Participants can qualify for rebates of either $300 or $1,200 based on their income eligibility. Program manager Adele Peers noted the excitement surrounding the initiative and emphasized the user-friendly, bilingual application website. Beyond just rebates, the WE-Bike website features essential safety and maintenance information for e-bike users.

Customer service agents are on hand to assist applicants, ensuring accessibility for all. The program also aligns with broader goals of promoting active transportation and sustainability. WSDOT plans to disseminate further details through its Walk & Roll Newsletter and the program's webpage.
