A little flashy and fun E-W Warriors debut new baseball uniforms

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors debuted their new high school baseball uniforms during a home game against the Lake Stevens Vikings, which resulted in a 9-3 loss. Coach Dan Somoza introduced the bright Kelly green uniforms with white and purple pinstripes, aiming to create a striking and fun appearance. He acknowledged the potential for divided opinions, stating, "They’ll either love it or they might hate it, but that’s OK. " Senior player Luke Boland expressed his excitement, highlighting how the uniforms reflect the team's energetic spirit, while junior Finn Crawford noted a preference for a darker shade. The new all-green design can be paired with white pants or mixed with traditional uniforms, providing flexibility for the team.

Somoza's choice of Kelly green pays homage to Woodway High School, which merged into Edmonds-Woodway High School in 1990, but he emphasized the desire to simply "spice it up a bit. " This fresh approach to team attire aims to foster a sense of community and pride among players and fans alike. The combination of style and team spirit is hoped to enhance the overall experience of high school baseball.
