This initiative recognizes the essential role businesses play in fostering an inclusive environment. The toolkit includes an Edmonds Pledge of Equity and various resources to help business owners assess their practices and identify areas for improvement. It also features a curated list of books, workbooks, websites, and podcasts focused on dismantling racism and promoting diversity. Courtney Wooten, a local consultant, led the research and development of the toolkit, which was presented to the Commission during its January meeting.

Diversity Commission Chair Ardeth Weed emphasized the importance of the toolkit in encouraging business owners to take the equity pledge and share these resources with their teams. The toolkit is designed as a "living document," with future updates planned to enhance its usefulness. Overall, this initiative represents a significant step toward creating a more equitable and welcoming community for all residents and visitors.
