Diversity Arts Commission Grants

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is actively promoting diversity and inclusion through its newly launched grant program, facilitated by the Diversity and Arts Commissions. With a total funding pool of $2,100, the initiative invites individuals and local organizations to apply for grants of up to $500 for projects that engage the community in meaningful ways. Eligible projects include a wide array of activities such as storytelling, poetry slams, and visual art installations. Interested applicants must submit their proposals by June 22, 2021, via email to the designated contacts. A subcommittee comprised of members from both commissions will review the applications, ensuring that the selected projects align with the goals of promoting diversity and equity.

Recommendations for funding will be presented during the July Commission meetings, with recipients informed shortly thereafter. This initiative not only highlights the city’s commitment to inclusivity but also encourages creative expressions that resonate within the community. By fostering such projects, Edmonds aims to enhance access to the arts and cultivate a richer cultural landscape for all residents.
