Planning the Future of Edmonds Parks Recreation

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds, Washington, is working to update its Parks, Recreation & Open Space Plan (PROS Plan), a crucial framework for managing and enhancing local recreational facilities. To engage the community, a 15-question survey has been launched, inviting residents to voice their opinions on future projects and priorities. Department Director Angie Feser highlighted the significance of community involvement, stating that local input is vital for determining the direction of parks and recreation services over the next 6-10 years. The survey is designed to be brief and straightforward, taking just a few minutes to complete. It is available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese, ensuring inclusivity in participation.

This update aims to address the changing demographics and needs of Edmonds’ growing population, particularly in areas currently lacking adequate park facilities. By gathering insights from the community, the city hopes to prioritize projects that will enhance recreational opportunities and preserve the quality of existing parks. This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering an active and engaged community through improved park services.
