6th Ave. Closure - City of Edmonds, WA

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds has announced a temporary closure at the intersection of Maple Street and 6th Avenue, effective from October 12 to October 14, 2021. This closure, occurring between 7 AM and 5 PM, is necessary for the installation of new storm pipes and related structures. While vehicle traffic will be barred from the intersection during these hours, residents will still have access to their driveways, and pedestrian paths will remain open with necessary detours. Following the closure, traffic delays are expected as the construction continues eastward along Maple Street towards 7th Avenue, aiming to replace outdated storm utility infrastructure. This construction is part of the city's annual program to enhance storm lines that have become inadequate or are reaching the end of their functional lifespan.

The project timeline is subject to weather conditions, and updates will be communicated as changes occur. Residents are encouraged to reach out to Greg Malowicki for any questions or language assistance needs related to the project. This initiative underscores the city's commitment to maintaining and improving essential public utilities.
