Civic Park Public Community Meeting

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is set to host a public community meeting on December 16, 2021, at 6:00 PM, focusing on the Civic Park public art project. This meeting will take place via Zoom and will feature Clark Wiegman, the artist selected to develop the design for the park's public art installation. The proposed sites for the installation were identified by the landscape architecture firm Walker Macy and are located near the main entry of the plaza off 6th Avenue North. Residents will have the opportunity to learn about Wiegman's artistic vision and past works, as well as provide their input during the early design phase. A brief presentation by Wiegman will precede a Q&A session, allowing community members to engage directly with the artist.

This meeting aims to foster community involvement in the arts and ensure that the final design reflects local interests. Once developed, the design will be presented to the Edmonds Arts Commission and subsequently to the City Council for approval in the spring. This initiative underscores the city's commitment to enhancing public spaces through art and community collaboration.
