EAC Announces Two Programs

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds Arts Commission (EAC) has launched two innovative programs designed to enrich the community through art and literacy. The Poet's Perspective invites submissions of short poems from youth and adult writers, aiming to enhance public spaces with thoughtful poetry installations. Selected poems will be displayed for six months and will also feature in an online gallery, with each chosen poet receiving a $100 honorarium. In addition, The Best Book I Ever Read Poster Exhibit encourages third-grade students to create posters based on their favorite books, promoting literacy and artistic expression. Participants in this exhibit will automatically enter a raffle for one of twenty $10 gift certificates to Edmonds Bookshop.

All submitted posters will be showcased in an online gallery, allowing the community to appreciate the creativity of its young artists. Both initiatives reflect the EAC’s commitment to fostering a vibrant arts culture in Edmonds. The deadlines for submissions are February 24 for poetry and March 31 for posters, encouraging timely participation from the community.
