Public Invited to Neighborhood Roundtable Meetings
The City of Edmonds is inviting community members to participate in a series of neighborhood roundtable meetings designed to discuss the Reimagining Neighborhoods and Streets project. Following a successful virtual kickoff meeting attended by approximately 70 residents, the initiative aims to gather input on how public spaces can be transformed to foster community connections and economic vitality. The first three roundtables will be held in the Five Corners, Downtown, and Firdale neighborhoods, with dates for additional meetings in other areas to be announced soon. Residents will discuss innovative ideas like outdoor dining, street festivals, and temporary art installations that can enhance their neighborhoods. Development Services Director Susan McLaughlin highlighted that these discussions are crucial for creating vibrant and interconnected communities.
The project reflects a growing interest in utilizing street space for various community-driven activities. For those interested in staying updated, more information can be found on the city's website. This initiative represents a proactive approach to urban planning by involving residents in the decision-making process.
