Perrinville Creek Watershed Public Workshop for Perrinville Creek Watershed Stormwater Management Action Plan

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is moving forward with a Stormwater Management Action Plan (SMAP) for the Perrinville Creek Watershed as part of its compliance with the Department of Ecology’s stormwater planning guidance. This initiative is crucial as it aligns with the Federal National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements. A comprehensive year-long water health assessment, involving public input and conducted by Herrera Consulting, evaluated nine potential local watersheds. The assessment highlighted Perrinville Creek as the most significant for improvement based on metrics such as water use importance, growth, and habitat conditions. To facilitate community engagement, the city is organizing two virtual workshops on February 22nd at 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM, where residents can discuss the proposed actions for watershed improvement.

Attendees will gain insights into the assessment process and the city's implementation plans. For more details and to register for the workshops, residents can visit the City’s official website. The city also offers language assistance services for those who need information in another language.
