Applicants for Community Champions Network

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is inviting local residents to apply for its new Community Champions Network, part of the ongoing 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update. This initiative seeks to ensure that the voices of underrepresented and historically marginalized communities are heard in local planning efforts. By recruiting community liaisons primarily from local organizations, Edmonds aims to create a more inclusive and responsive planning process. Liaisons will engage in regular meetings to discuss planning themes and empower their communities to provide feedback. The initiative emphasizes building trustful relationships between city staff and residents, ultimately fostering civic engagement.

Compensation will be provided for the liaison role, which requires a commitment of approximately four hours per month. Applications must be submitted by 5 PM on February 12, 2024, allowing community members to contribute to shaping the future of Edmonds. For more information, interested individuals can visit the Community Champions webpage or email the city’s Planning and Development Department.
