Overnight lane reductions and ramp closures March 12, 13 will affect people using I-5 through Seattle

Seattle's overnight travelers on Interstate 5 should prepare for lane reductions and ramp closures on March 12 and 13, impacting both northbound and southbound traffic. Northbound I-5 will be narrowed to two lanes between 9 p. m. and 5 a. m.

, with the Harvard Avenue East on-ramp also closing for maintenance. Concurrently, southbound I-5 will close the right lane just south of the Lake Washington Ship Canal Bridge, along with the Boylston Avenue East off-ramp, from 10 p. m. to 5 a. m.

These closures are part of essential maintenance work by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), setting the stage for the I-5/Yesler Way to Northgate Vicinity project aimed at enhancing traffic flow. Furthermore, the northbound I-5 off-ramp to Mercer Street and the eastbound Mercer on-ramp will be closed from 9 p. m. to 6 a. m.
