Jim Blossey, a notable business and community leader in Edmonds, passed away on February 27, 2025, due to pneumonia complications. His early life in Spokane led him to serve in the Navy aboard the USS Walton, where he participated in operations off the coast of North Korea. After earning a degree in Communications from Washington State University, he became a well-known radio disc jockey, working in various cities, including Boise, Bremerton, and Seattle. Blossey was a pivotal figure in transforming downtown Edmonds, once dubbed “Deadmonds,” into a vibrant community hub. His leadership as charter President of the Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary Club and his involvement in other charitable initiatives showcased his commitment to public service.

Additionally, he contributed to the Port of Edmonds and helped establish the Edmonds Waterfront Festival, further cementing his legacy. He is survived by his wife, Linda, son Paul, and grandson Danny. A funeral service will be held at Holy Rosary Church in Edmonds on March 21, 2025, honoring his contributions to the community.
