Roberta “Berta” McKee, a beloved Edmonds resident and prominent figure in the community, passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 94. Known for her dedication as a school teacher, church organist, and philanthropist, Berta's impact on local education and community service remains significant. Born in Mount Vernon, WA, she and her sister Marjorie “Marjie” Cadwallader grew up on a dairy farm, eventually graduating from Seattle Pacific College and furthering their education at the University of Washington. The community is invited to celebrate her life at a memorial service scheduled for March 9, 2025, at the Little White Church in Edmonds, which is conveniently located near her home. Following the memorial, a burial will take place on March 10 in Burlington.

Berta's family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Crista Senior Living in Shoreline for the excellent care she received. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of the donor's choice, honoring her legacy of generosity. Her life and contributions will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
