E-W senior chosen as candidate for 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

Graham Icasiano, a senior at Edmonds-Woodway High School, has been selected as a candidate for the 2025 U. S. Presidential Scholars Program, recognizing his exemplary academic and extracurricular achievements. From a staggering 3. 6 million high school seniors, over 5,000 candidates were chosen, showcasing the competitive nature of this prestigious program.

As a partial International Baccalaureate student, Icasiano is deeply involved in his school community, participating in the National Honor Society, Knowledge Bowl, and track and field. The selection for the program emphasizes not only academic success but also leadership qualities and strong character. In early April, a distinguished panel of educators will review the candidates and select approximately 600 semifinalists. The finalists will be announced in May by the U. S.

Department of Education. Scholars are celebrated for their achievements during an online National Recognition Program in June, where they receive the Presidential Scholars Medallion. Icasiano's recognition reflects the promise and potential of America's youth in shaping the future.
