Edmonds, WALocal News

On March 1, Snohomish County Human Services will host the "You Are Not Alone" event at the Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo, aimed at combating youth suicide and promoting mental health. Suicide remains the second leading cause of death among local youth aged 10-17, highlighting the urgency of this initiative. The event will provide families and youth with vital resources, including workshops that cover recognizing warning signs and effective suicide prevention strategies. Additionally, attendees will learn how to administer Narcan for opioid overdoses, an increasingly relevant topic due to rising fentanyl-related incidents. Engaging activities such as live music, art, and therapy dogs will be available to help reduce stress and create a supportive atmosphere.

A Youth Rocket League Tournament will also take place, encouraging participation and community involvement. With services provided in both Spanish and Ukrainian, the event underscores a commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. This gathering exemplifies the community’s dedication to enhancing youth mental health and ensuring that no young person feels alone in their struggles.
