Prep boys basketball Win over Shorewood sends Warriors into District championship Saturday

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors triumphed over the Shorewood Stormrays with a commanding 67-37 victory in the 3A District 1 Semifinals, marking their first state tournament qualification since 2017. Senior standout Cam Hiatt led the charge with 34 points, showcasing his skills with a remarkable half-court shot just before halftime. After an initial struggle, where the Warriors fell behind 6-0, they surged back to lead 30-20 at the break, driven by a 10-0 run in the second quarter. The Warriors continued to dominate, extending their lead to as much as 36 points in the second half. With this win, Edmonds-Woodway improves its record to 23-1 and sets its sights on the District Championship against the Monroe Bearcats, who recently upset the second-seeded Shorecrest.

The championship game is scheduled for February 22 at Marysville Pilchuck High School, promising an exciting rematch after Edmonds-Woodway previously defeated Monroe 57-40. The loss for Shorewood pushes them into the consolation bracket, where they still have a chance to qualify for state against the Sedro-Woolley Cubs.
