Providence Swedish Edmonds welcomes first baby of 2025

Edmonds, WALocal News

At Providence Swedish Edmonds, the arrival of Jheneah Elowyn Horne marked a joyful moment as she became the first baby born in 2025, arriving just 22 minutes into the New Year. Weighing 7. 2 pounds and measuring 20 inches, Jheneah's birth followed two hours of labor that began in 2024 for her parents, Amber-Lynne Rickett and Steffen Horne. The couple shared that Jheneah is not only their first child but also the first grandchild on both sides of the family, making her birth a significant occasion for both families. The parents expressed their aspirations to marry, purchase a home, and instill values of kindness and strength in their daughter.

Jheneah's middle name, Elowyn, is inspired by a child from Washington state who tragically passed away from leukemia at just 17 months old, representing a deep emotional connection and gratitude for life's blessings. Furthermore, Jheneah is the first member of Generation Beta, a term coined by McCrindle Research, which will last until 2039. This new generation is expected to witness extraordinary advancements, potentially living into the 22nd century. The story highlights the personal impact of new life within the local community and reflects broader generational transitions.
