Planning the Future of Edmonds Parks Recreation

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds, Washington, is inviting residents to participate in a survey to help update its Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan (PROS Plan), a critical six-year guide for managing local recreational facilities and opportunities. This initiative aims to gather community input on priorities for future programs, events, and potential new parks, particularly focusing on areas that currently lack adequate facilities. Department Director Angie Feser highlighted the significance of resident feedback in shaping the planning process and ensuring that the parks and programs remain vibrant and responsive to community needs. The survey, consisting of 15 questions, is designed to be quick and accessible, taking only a few minutes to complete. It is available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese, to ensure broad participation among diverse community members.

Engaging the community in this process is vital for creating recreational opportunities that meet the evolving demands of Edmonds' growing population. By prioritizing projects based on resident input, the city aims to enhance the parks and recreation system over the next 6-10 years. Community members are encouraged to share their vision and help shape the future of Edmonds' parks and recreational offerings.
