Diversity Commission Offering Small Grants to Promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds Diversity Commission is actively promoting community involvement by offering small grants to support initiatives that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion. Individuals and not-for-profit organizations can apply for grants up to $500 to fund a range of eligible projects, including storytelling events, poetry slams, and art exhibitions. Applications must be submitted by July 15, 2022, to ensure consideration, with all submissions directed to Megan Luttrell via email. A dedicated subcommittee will assess the applications and make recommendations at the August Commission meeting, where grant award decisions will be finalized. This program not only seeks to engage the local community but also to educate and inspire through creative expression and dialogue.

Projects can be held virtually or in person, depending on the prevailing pandemic guidelines. The grant recipients will be notified shortly after August 3, allowing them ample time to plan and execute their projects by December 31, 2022. This initiative underscores the City's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where diverse voices and experiences are celebrated.
