Perrinville Creek Watershed Public Workshop for Stormwater Management Action Plan

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is set to host two virtual workshops on February 22, 2023, focusing on the Stormwater Management Action Plan (SMAP) for the Perrinville Creek Watershed. This plan is part of a larger initiative to meet the Department of Ecology's stormwater planning guidance, which mandates the prioritization of local watersheds by March 31, 2023. Following a comprehensive year-long water health assessment conducted with Herrera Consulting, Perrinville Creek emerged as the top candidate for improvement due to its significant water use importance. The workshops will provide critical insights into the assessment findings and the rationale behind the watershed's selection. Participants will also engage in discussions about proposed actions aimed at enhancing water quality and habitat conditions in the area.

This effort is crucial for ensuring compliance with the Federal National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations. The City encourages public participation to foster community involvement in local environmental initiatives. By prioritizing the Perrinville Creek Watershed, Edmonds demonstrates its commitment to sustainable water management and ecological health.
