South County cold weather shelter in Lynnwood will be open Nov. 30

The South County cold weather shelter will open at Maple Park Church in Lynnwood on Nov. 30 due to forecasts of temperatures at or below 34°F. Community Transit and Everett Transit provide free transportation to the shelter, allowing passengers to inform the driver of their destination. A van service will pick up individuals from specified locations, beginning at Lynnwood City Hall at 7 p. m.

Check-in at the shelter runs from 7-9 p. m. , and guests will not be admitted after 9 p. m. unless escorted by law enforcement or emergency medical personnel.

The shelter requests no walk-ups, and parking is available for those arriving by car. Snohomish County Public Safety Hub updates information about cold weather shelters daily. This initiative serves to protect vulnerable community members during extreme weather conditions.
