Edmonds, WALocal News

The South County cold weather shelter will open at Maple Park Church in Lynnwood on November 29 as temperatures are expected to dip to 34° or below. Community Transit and Everett Transit will continue their no-fare rides for individuals traveling to and from the shelter, requiring passengers to inform the bus driver of their destination. A van will collect individuals from specific locations in Lynnwood, departing at 7 p. m. from City Hall, followed by stops at James Village and Value Village.

Guests may arrive by car and park at the church, but walk-ups will not be accepted. Check-in at the shelter runs from 7 to 9 p. m. , with late arrivals needing an escort from law enforcement or emergency medical services. This initiative addresses the urgent need for shelter during severe weather conditions and reflects ongoing community efforts to support vulnerable populations.

Daily updates for cold weather shelters in Snohomish County are available on the local public safety hub.
