SB I-5 Ship Canal Bridge in Seattle reduced to two lanes all weekend, Nov. 21-24

Edmonds, WALocal News

Southbound Interstate 5 will reduce to two lanes across the Ship Canal Bridge from 10 p. m. on November 21 until 5 a. m. on November 24.

The Northeast 45th Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 will also close during this time. These lane reductions are part of a series of weekend closures required for drainage improvements under the Revive I-5: Ship Canal Bridge Preservation project. This marks the fourth of six planned weekend-long reductions aimed at enhancing the bridge’s infrastructure. The express lanes will operate only southbound throughout the weekend, which may result in delays for those traveling in both directions. Motorists can find real-time travel updates via the WSDOT mobile app and the Travel Center Map.

The Washington State Department of Transportation encourages travelers to stay informed by signing up for email updates. These improvements are crucial for maintaining the bridge's safety and functionality in the long term.
