Restaurant News Loft closes, PCC cooking classes return, Spud and Girardis give back
The Loft Kitchen & Bar in Edmonds has closed permanently after 17 years, with owners Niko and Paula Raptis expressing heartfelt thanks to their loyal patrons. The new owner, Niles Peacock, plans to remodel the space into a café/restaurant that will feature his award-winning bagels. SPUD Fish & Chips is encouraging community involvement this November by allowing customers to round up their bills to support Ultimate Vision, which funds youth programs. On November 15, SPUD will donate 10% of sales to the same cause and host a Doggy Carnival for pet owners. Caffé Ladro is also taking action by partnering with Food Lifeline for a food drive across its 15 locations, inviting donations of non-perishable items from November 1 to December 31.
These initiatives aim to address local food insecurity during the holiday season. The closure of the Loft marks a significant change in the local dining scene, while other businesses step up to enhance community support. Overall, these efforts reflect a strong commitment to maintaining community ties in Edmonds.
