On Oct. 26, Volunteers of America Western Washington will host a WhirlyBall fundraiser at WhirlyBall in Edmonds to support the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center, which is nearing completion. The organization aims to raise the final $1 million needed to open the center debt-free, with all funds matched by Rick Steves’ $1 million challenge grant. The featured activity, WhirlyBall, is a team sport that combines elements of lacrosse, basketball, and bumper cars. Adult tickets are priced at $100, while children under 16 can attend for $50, which includes food and drinks.

Attendees can win prizes and participate in an auction, enhancing community engagement. The Lynnwood Neighborhood Center represents a significant investment in local resources, highlighting the importance of community support. This fundraiser is one of the last major events before the center opens to the public. The event encourages community involvement and aims to foster a sense of belonging among residents.
